Beatboxing: inside the beats
When I was a bored eleven year old, an advert appeared on TV trying to appeal to the younger audience. The ad consisted of a young man in a red hoody holding a microphone who then went on to say, assuming that everyone knew, what he was talking about..."all you need to do is say boots n' cats" and then carried on doing his thing. From then on, I passed it of as a little habit. Now that I've learnt more about it, it has become more of a passion.
In this blog I will be discussing my thoughts and my personal experience with Beatboxing and how it has lead many people into a path of fame.
What is beatboxing?
Beatboxing (also beat boxing or b-boxing) is a form of vocal
percussion primarily involving the art of mimicking drum machines using one's
mouth, lips, tongue, and voice. It may also involve vocal imitation and other musical instruments. Beatboxing today is connected with
hip-hop culture, often referred to as "the fifth element" of hip-hop,
although it is not limited to hip-hop music. The term "beatboxing" is
sometimes used to refer to vocal percussion in general.
